Siemens SINAMICS G120· F30001
Overcurrent
Output current went above the drive's instantaneous limit (around 2× rated) for microseconds.
Usual causes
- Acceleration ramp too short for the load inertia
- Mechanical jam or sudden load change
- Short circuit or earth fault in motor cable or winding
- Failed output IGBT in the drive
- Wrong motor data entered in vector mode
First checks
- Note whether it trips while accelerating, decelerating or at constant speed
- Disconnect the motor cable and run the drive unloaded — if it still trips, suspect the drive
- Megger motor and cable with the drive disconnected
- Increase the acceleration time and re-check motor nameplate parameters
Isolate and wait for the DC bus to discharge before touching terminals. Codes vary by model and firmware — confirm against your drive's manual.
